The forest has been cleared in Debrecen

As a part of the Civilians of Debrecen Volunteer Programme our volunteers were guests of the forest around the Vekeri lake on November 21. The youngsters started this day really enthusiastically because the Sun shone wonderfully and they believed in that after they collected the garbage the forest will shine.

When they have arrived, they shocked to see the amount of the thrown garbage which they noticed at the edge of the forest. Because of this the rubbish bags and the gloves came to the light to start the garbage collecting, and slowly get into the heart of the woods. They enjoyed very well this exciting trip and a pair of deer surprised the youth but as fast they emerged, they disappeared as soon as. Besides that, they admired different kind of mushrooms, but the colourful fly agaric was the star of the day where unfortunately a pair of sunglasses was also lost during the big photo shoot which made harder the recognition of the hiking signs. After a smaller wandering and the discovery of the wilderness, the youngsters were relieved when they saw the lake where the beautiful snow-white swans swam in the water reflecting from the sun. Unfortunately, the bag got full early, which means that would be necessary other similar waste collector action. The trip ended with big satisfaction whenever the garbage bag was flown into a container at Lake Vekeri by volunteers.
