In the name of the 20th birthday – Interview with János Bálega

We did an interview with one of the former presidents of our Association János Bálega. In the interview with János we can get a little deeper insight into the beginnings, also we could get know how one of our former presidents, currently our strategic leader sees the Centre. In the future we will do other interviews with more Association people too, read those too.

1. You were between the founders, where did the idea come from?
We wanted to the student government members who are coming after us there they are not left without adult help and have easier thing as like we had, so we decided next to the founding of the Association, the name wasn’t a surprise either, Association for the City Student Government.

2. Which move you would compare your years you spent at the Association?
Forrest Gump, because there happened are a lot of incredible things in the past 20 years, there is no a thing like on the history’s papers neither.

3. What was the biggest professional challenge during your Association work?
Always, all the time, everywhere the keeping the QUALITY OF PROFESSIONALISM, development, and giving it in every minute, which people are saying to it in a good way yes it was like Centre!

4. Which program you liked the most and why?
Until nowadays the nicest for me the ODHs (National Student Weeks) and KDTs (Carphatian Basin Student Governments Meeting) were.

5. Which was your favorite role / job position in your job?
When I really was “only” a strategic leader!

6. What or who had the biggest impact on you during your work? Why?
To me and my work the biggest impact were our youngsters were for 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years.

7. What is the first word which comes to your mind about the Centre Youth Association? Why?
Community, because the Centre Youth Association is that!

8. What is the program / event / or moment you are most proud of?
All of the won awards, for example the taken over, on Budapest got the year’s volunteer program award.

9. What have you learned at the Association and been able to use in other areas of life?
We solve everything, we have 100 solutions for everything!

10. What motivated you during your work?
Faith, power, endurance, the last 20 years, my family and for now my little son.

11. If you could change something back about your association years, what would it be?
I never want to change anything!

12. How it felt to receive the Snail Award? Did you guess you would get it?
I didn’t thought but it was a very good feeling I experience it as a big responsibility that I have one too, because I have to keep myself to this!

13. You were volunteer at a lot of places, but which was the most exciting activity for you?
All that kind of trainings which I held for student government members at any places of the country, I have learnt a lot from those.

14. What superpower could come useful for you to be your life easier in the Association?
Time travel that would be cool even now.

15. You have participated in many trainings which was your favourite game, practice?
A lot of people love the Battendzsu if I show it in my good mood, but it was a very good experience to show the world hug game on an event.

16. If you have to recommend the Association to somebody, what would you say?
There are many opportunities and space for your personal development if you believe in yourself and the Association!

17. How the youngsters can be motivated to join such a community?
“Free pizza, school certificate” – as our student government members say I think the care, openness, honesty, and a little capsule coffee.

18. How did you change the most compared to your pre-accession self?
In the sense of responsibility.
