Implementation of students' projects in a school in Debrecen
On the 16th of June, the community budget of the Ferenc Medgyessy High School, Art and Technical School was presented in the American Corner in Debrecen. The project was implemented by the Alternative Communities Association together with K-Monitor and the students of the school.
An expert from K-Monitor said that when creating a community budget, firstly we have think about the problems and needs of the community. After that part, the students made project proposals from them, and the community voted to decide what to spend on the available amount.
In the end, the three most voted projects were implemented. The first became a relax room with comfortable bags and the second one was a so called sanitary box. The third project was called “For Dancers,” they were able to paint the dance hall, and they could acquire a new sofa.
The vice-president of Alternative Communities Association told us that with the experience that they gained from this project, they want to help and teach this method to other non-governmental organizations as well.
