We row in the same boat – debate camp

Between 11-14 of July more of the HABIDISZ and the JNSZDÖK’s youngsters were participate in the debate camp which organised by the Foundation for Democratic Youth (DIA) in Agárd next to the Velence lake.

We wrote already about the debate project which runs since spring the “We row in the same boat” because we held debate clubs in Szolnok and Debrecen. The project reached its end which we closed with a three days long debate camp. In the debate club 2 debate club leader and eight students participated from the Szolnok and Debrecen teams, who after a busy train journey waited the beginning of the cam with huge excitedness.

Short summary about the camp:

1 st Day:
We have started with a little team building, after this we created rules together in a democratic way fir the duration of the camp. In the night, the BAHANÓJ tribe divided to 4 smaller families:
- Timers; whose super power is gain time
- Nice sight; whose super power is the foresight
- Ninó; whose superpower is helping
- Tamen; whose super power is healing
- Every team found out particular handshakes, which we used several times during the camp.

2 nd Day:
After breakfast we started the day with a 4-corner debate club with different topics for example art. After arguing all the 4 families had to choose a team captain for that day, which the 3 HABIDISZ members got. Following this we started as families to village raid, while that we made pictures with many sights of Agárd. After the right deserved lunch, the team tried out some team and trust building practices. We have closed the day with a quiz contest.

3 rd day:
We started this morning with an energizer, then we debated among each other sorted by families in many creative ways, our favourite was the airship and the shipwrecked practice were. In the afternoon, problem solving came to the front the four family solved problems and situation with cooperation and with their super power. After dinner a little surprise waited for us: SUNSET CRUISE.

4 th Day:
This day was about the closing and farewell.
By this way we would thank to the DIA that we could participate in the camp and in the debate project since spring.
