II. Medieval Knight Festival in Nyíregyháza
The Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Children's and Youth Council (SZSZBGYIÖK) once again organized a special program last Sunday.
The II. Medieval Knight Festival took place on September 8 at the Sóstó Museum Village as part of the Old Hungary Flavors Gastronomic Event. Before the start of the programs at 6 a.m., the young participants began preparing their meal, which consisted of a delicious pork stew with pasta and pickled vegetables. The program officially started at 10 a.m., featuring a castle, a beautiful market, and a fantastic craft corner, inviting both young and old to embark on nearly a full day of adventure in the world of medieval Hungary.
The festival included cart rides, glitter tattoos, and face painting, alongside craft activities and interactive games, which children could participate in by purchasing with gold coins. They could also buy toy weapons, shields, and horses with the coins.
Since it was a Knight Festival, it was essential to have a knight tournament, where six young knights showcased their strength, skill, and combat knowledge for generous prizes and impressive ranks, while bards played beautiful songs.
We hope to see you again at the III. Medieval Knight Festival next year!
